Reporting infringement

MakerMade respects the intellectual property of others and responds to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe a listing on MakerMade infringes your copyright, you can submit a takedown notice or email our designated agent below.

What a valid takedown notice must include

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g. the listing URL or ID).
• Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Counter-notice

If your listing was removed and you believe it was removed in error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated agent including: your contact information and signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which MakerMade may be found). If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

Repeat-infringer policy

MakerMade will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of sellers who are determined to be repeat infringers.

Misrepresentation

Under §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages. Please do not make false claims.
