Getting paid
Our pricing fits on a napkin, and this page is the napkin. No listing fees, no renewal fees, no ad surcharges — a small commission when you sell, payment processing at cost, and everything visible in your ledger.
What a sale costs
On each sale you pay:
- MakerMade’s commission — 4% on the Free plan, less on paid plans (below).
- Payment processing at cost — Stripe’s standard rate, passed straight through. We don’t add a cent on top.
And explicitly, what you don’t pay: no listing fees, no renewal fees, no mandatory ad fees, no payment surcharge.
Example. You sell a $48.00 ceramic mug with $6.00 shipping — a $54.00 order. On the Free plan, MakerMade’s commission is $1.92, payment processing runs about $1.87, and the rest is yours. Your Payouts page shows this exact breakdown for every order — gross, our fee, processing, net.
The three plans
Plans are per seller and set two things: how many shops you can run, and your commission rate.

The break-even math is simple: Pro pays for itself at $950.00/month in sales (the 2 points you save cover the $19.00). Until you’re consistently there, Free is the right plan, and we’ll say so. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time in Seller Studio → Plan; when a paid plan lapses, you keep its benefits until the end of the period you paid for.
Connecting payouts
Money from sales accumulates as a held balance until you connect a bank account — so you can start selling immediately and wire up payouts when ready.
Connecting takes about five minutes in Seller Studio → Payouts: we use Stripe (the payments company behind much of the internet) to verify your identity and link your bank. MakerMade never sees or stores your banking details — that’s Stripe’s job, and they’re good at it.
Once connected, hit Pay out to move your held balance to your bank.
Statements and records
Your Payouts page shows the full ledger — every order’s gross, fees, refunds, and net — and you can download a PDF earnings statement for your records or your accountant at any time.
Taxes, briefly
MakerMade calculates and collects applicable sales tax at checkout on marketplace orders — it’s not something you need to configure per listing. Income tax is yours: your statement PDF and ledger give you the numbers, but we’re makers of a marketplace, not tax advisors — for what you owe and what you can deduct, ask a professional who knows your situation.
