Grow your shop
Growth on MakerMade isn’t an ads auction — it’s compounding: better listings get found more, buyers follow shops they love, and you can talk to your audience directly. Here’s each lever.
Read your analytics like a maker, not a dashboard
Seller Studio → Analytics shows traffic, sales, and how buyers move through your shop. Three questions get you most of the value:
- What gets views but no sales? The photo or price is losing them — usually the cover photo at thumbnail size.
- What sells whenever it’s in stock? Make more of it, and consider whether it’s priced a notch too low.
- Where do buyers come from? If a social post spikes traffic, you’ve found your channel; do more of it.
Check monthly, not hourly. Handmade sales are lumpy, and daily dashboard-staring only manufactures anxiety.
Feature your best work
Your storefront has a featured items strip — you choose what pins there. Curate it like a shop window: your hero pieces, your newest work, whatever you’d show first at a fair. (If you imported from Etsy, your Etsy featured picks came over already pinned.)
Followers, and emailing your audience
Buyers can follow your shop, and followers are the audience that compounds. From Seller Studio → Marketing, you can compose and send an email campaign to your audience — new collection, kiln opening, holiday deadline. Habits that keep it welcome:
- Send when you have news, not on a schedule. An email that says nothing teaches people to ignore you.
- Lead with a photo of new work. It’s why they followed.
- One clear next step per email — see the new piece, use the deadline.
A note worth appreciating: your audience here is yours. MakerMade doesn’t charge you to reach your own followers.
Reviews as fuel
Reviews compound too — they’re social proof on every future visit. The reliable way to earn them is the boring one: honest listings, careful packing, a handwritten note. And respond to the critical ones with grace; future buyers are reading you, not the reviewer.
Off-platform, briefly
Social media works for makers when it’s process, not promotion: the wheel, the
bench, the third failed prototype. Post the making, link the listing, and let
your storefront do the selling. Your MakerMade shop URL is clean and yours —
makermade.market/store/your-shop — put it in every bio.
The honest summary
Nothing here beats the fundamentals: photograph it well, describe it honestly, price it like your time matters, ship it safely, answer messages. Do that for a year and the algorithmic tricks won’t matter.
