Move your Etsy shop in minutes
You built your shop once. You shouldn’t have to build it again. MakerMade’s importer mirrors an Etsy shop — listings, photos, your reviews, even your featured items — so moving here is an afternoon of review, not a month of data entry.
What the importer brings over
- Listings — titles, descriptions, prices, and variants, imported as drafts for you to review.
- Photos — mirrored at full crispness (we fetch the large originals, not thumbnails) and hosted on our CDN, so nothing depends on Etsy staying up.
- Your reviews — the reputation you earned comes with you, mapped to the right listings. Star ratings and review text are imported from your shop’s public reviews.
- Featured items — the items you pinned on Etsy arrive pinned on your MakerMade storefront strip too.
- Shop branding — your banner and story, so your storefront looks like yours on day one.
What it can’t bring
Etsy doesn’t expose everything publicly, so a few things need your hands:
- Shipping prices — partially. The importer can pull each listing’s Etsy shipping cost and turn it into shipping profiles for you (one click in the review screen), but you should sanity-check the results.
- Sales history and messages — those stay on Etsy.
- Inventory counts — set stock levels as you review each draft.
The review step
Imported listings arrive as drafts that need review — nothing goes live behind your back. In your Seller Studio you’ll find the import review screen, where you can:
- Pull shipping from Etsy. One click fetches each draft’s Etsy shipping and builds matching shipping profiles. Re-run it if you have many listings — it works through them in batches.
- Assign shipping profiles in bulk to any drafts that need one.
- Approve listings individually or in bulk. Approved listings publish to your storefront.
Most shops are fully reviewed within an hour. While you work, your shop stays unpublished if you want — flip it live when the catalog looks right.
Keeping both shops open
Nothing about moving in requires moving out. Plenty of makers run MakerMade alongside Etsy while deciding. The practical differences to weigh: our commission is 4% or less with no listing or renewal fees, and your customer relationships here are yours — buyers can follow your shop and you can email your audience directly.
If your shop was already imported
Sometimes we seed the marketplace with great shops before their owners arrive. If you’ve found a MakerMade storefront that’s already yours, don’t re-import — claim it and everything, reviews included, is yours to run.
